Sponsor a Child in Kenya and Give the Gift of Education. Meet Vincent.

You Want to Give Back—But You Want It to Matter

Maybe you’ve been feeling it lately.
A nudge. A pull. A voice in your head asking:

“Am I doing enough?”

You work hard. You’ve built a life with stability, access, and comfort. You may not call yourself rich—but you know you’re fortunate. You’ve had opportunities, especially when it came to education.

And deep down, you want to pass that opportunity on.

The problem is… you’ve seen so many causes, so many fundraisers, and so many stories—it’s hard to know what’s real or where your money actually goes.

So here’s one story. One child. One sponsorship that changed everything.

Vincent and Mercy in 2016

Vincent’s Story: From School Dropout to Community Leader

We first met Vincent in 2016.

He was a quiet, determined boy living in a rural village in Bomet, Kenya. When we visited his home, he wasn’t at school. Not because he didn’t want to be. Not because he’d done anything wrong.

He was at home because his family had fallen behind on school fees.

His mother, Mercy, was working in the fields cutting vegetables, earning barely $1 a day. She wanted more for her children, but survival came first. Paying school fees for Vincent—no matter how small the amount—just wasn’t possible at the time.

So he stayed home. Dreams on pause. Future on hold.

Until someone stepped in.

We agreed to sponsor Vincent through our School Fees Program.

That one decision—just a few dozen dollars—put him back in the classroom. And Vincent didn’t waste the opportunity. He worked hard. He stayed focused. He graduated.

But that’s not the end of the story. It’s just the beginning.

What Happens When Education Meets Opportunity

After graduation, Vincent began working with us as the Garden Tower Team Lead in his community. He trained families. He led workshops. He showed others how to grow their own food using sustainable techniques.

People listened—because they saw what education had done for him.

Vincent eventually went on to college to study Construction Technology, and just recently, he did something that many in his village never imagined possible:

He built his parents a new home.

No more mud hut. No more patchwork walls or leaking roofs. A real home. Built by their son.

But that’s not all.

  • His father was so inspired by Vincent’s leadership and dedication that he began making changes in his own life—working harder, taking initiative, believing in possibility.

  • His mother, Mercy, learned how to sew Garden Towers, creating a new income stream that gave the family stability and dignity.

  • Their younger children are now attending school too—because one $40 decision years ago created a ripple of hope.

This is what real impact looks like.

Why School Fees Matter So Much in Kenya

In many parts of Kenya, education isn’t free past a certain level. Families are required to pay modest school fees to keep their children enrolled.

But when you're living on just a few dollars a day, even $50 can be the difference between:

  • A child going to school...

  • Or a child being sent home.

It’s not a lack of effort. It’s not a lack of dreams. It’s a lack of access.

And that’s where you come in.

How Your Gift Changes Everything

When you donate to the School Fees Program, you’re not just helping a child pay for a term of school. You’re investing in an entire future:

  • Education brings confidence.

  • Confidence brings opportunity.

  • Opportunity brings transformation.

  • Transformation changes generations.

It’s not theoretical. It’s Vincent.

You Don’t Have to Give Everything. Just Something.

It’s easy to feel like your small contribution doesn’t matter. But if this story proves anything, it’s that small things add up to big change.

✨ $50 = one child in school for a term
✨ $150 = one full year of education
✨ Monthly giving = continuous impact

And with each gift, you become part of a story that’s bigger than you—one that doesn’t end when the donation is processed. It echoes through families, communities, and generations.

This Is Your Moment

There are more “Vincents” waiting.

Kids who are sitting at home not because they’ve failed—but because the system failed them.
Parents like Mercy who are doing their absolute best—but still fall short.
Dreams that are just one helping hand away from becoming reality.

You don’t have to change the whole world. But you can absolutely change one child’s.
