Learning a Trade Opens Doors

Merci's Story

Merci's life was transformed when she learned to sew through 100 Humanitarians International's Skills Development program. Previously struggling to support her family, she now creates garden towers, HopeSaCs, and reusable hygiene kits, earning a steady income from her sewing business. This new skill has not only improved her financial stability but also empowered her to send her children to school and invest in their future. She went from living in a mud hut to building a house with her son, Vincent. Merci’s success has inspired others in her community, demonstrating how learning a trade can open doors to opportunity and self-reliance.
